MINI GRADE Information

Mini hockey is on Saturday mornings from 8.50-9.50am on the Nunweek Park turf no 1.
Start Date - Saturday 28th April 2012
Mini hockey is for children beginning the game and usually in the age range 5-8 years old. However we can discuss accommodating children slightly younger and older if requested.
The Harewood Minis has become an institution in Christchurch hockey over the years and it has introduced nearly 2000 children to the game over the last 25 years. Many have gone on to play for Canterbury in underage and senior teams and we now also have NZ players who have come through Harewood Minis.
The Club has 3 main aims for children at Mini Hockey.
- Development of physical fitness and hand/eye coordination
- Development of some of the skills of the game
- Enjoyment of hockey.
We try to make this an enjoyable hour in the children’s week during which they will learn some of the skills of hockey. We hope that this will be an enjoyable experience which will encourage them to progress on to the 8-a-side then the 11-a-side versions of the game in future years.
Dates for 2012
Mini hockey runs every Saturday morning from 28th April until the 8th September except for the following two Saturdays – 2 June (QB Weekend) and 7 July (middle Saturday of the School Holidays). This is 18 Saturdays.
Registrations
Every child should complete a registration form and hand it in at the Pavilion.
The subscription is $45 for the year and can be paid at the Pavilion on Saturday mornings.
