2021 Year 7 / 8 Registrations – NOW OPEN

Harewood Kwik Sticks Registrations have now opened for 2021!

It is IMPORTANT THAT YOU REGISTER and unfortunately late registrations cannot be accepted. All new players to the club will be placed on a waitlist until such time as our incumbent Harewood players have indicated their availability.

Registrations close FRIDAY 12 MARCH. Waitlisted players will be advised of your acceptance on or before MONDAY 15 MARCH.

SCHOOL YEAR 7 PLAYERS

All year 7 players will be playing 7- Aside hockey in 2021. These games will be longer in duration than Kiwi Sticks, with the match being on half turfs at the main venues.

This is a transition year, and it is envisaged that In 2022, both year 7 and year 8 players will play this format. Our club has decided to trial this age group to ensure players are placed with those of a similar ability, thus allowing us to develop their skills effectively, and for the players to have an enjoyable experience.

All players will be provided with a uniform and will practice once a week, ideally in a squad based format for a portion of the session (Days and times to be determined based on coach and turf allocations)

SUN 14 March – Nunweek (3) – 2-3pm

Year 7 Boys and Girls Skill Session

Pre Trial skills session for both Boys and Girls. Take the opportunity to prepare for trials by experiencing some skills sessions with our Harewood Coaching crew.

FRI 19 Mar – Nunweek (3) – 3:45pm – 6pm

Year 7 Boys and Girls Trial Matches

Due to numbers, Boys will finish at 5pm, Girls at 6pm

We ask all players are signed in and ready to play no later than 3:45pm when we will be briefing players and parents on the new format for this age group.

From 4pm, we will hit the turf with games that enable us to place players with those of similar ability.

Players who cannot attend the trials on the 19th will be placed in a team based on coach feedback from the previous season, and/or from the skills session.

All players need to ensure you have the correct safety equipment (mouthguard, shin pads) and your hockey stick. We do have some spares if needed. Goalkeepers, please advise if you require GK kit or you have your own.

SCHOOL YEAR 8 PLAYERS

All Year 8 players will be playing 11 Aside Hockey in 2021. Uniforms will continue to be provided and teams will practice once a week (times and venues to be determined).
